The Dress

A gorgeous bespoke light silver version of the dress Kate Middleton wore to the Olympic Gala in 2012.

This beautiful vintage inspired all-silk gown oozes 1930s Hollywood glamour. The design showcases beautiful silk chiffon, light & lacy cap sleeves, lace detailing in the bodice, and an all-lace illusion back which fastens with a row of silk clad buttons. The waist is clinched by a silk sash with beautiful embellishment detail at the front and a delicate bow at the back. The fitted bodice falls away into a full silk skirt with a silk-chiffon overlay. The skirt is semi-fitted at the hips and ends in a long puddle train. All these design traits combine for a stunning and memorable wedding gown.

It was used as a sample dress at the shop I bought it from so has a few areas that need a bit of work (hence the dramatic price drop). I originally bought it to wear as my wedding dress, but found something I liked more a few weeks later. Wish I could keep them both!

Perfect for a bride who doesn’t want a typical white dress, this one is a light silver, absolutely gorgeous with beautiful silk chiffon, light and floaty long train.

The areas that need work, I’ve detailed in the photos and below:
- Some minor lace repairs around the bust and back
- A good dry clean (some light stains around the underarms and train)
- Repair on the back seam around the rear where the fabric seems to be pulled
- Little Repair on the underneath layers on the front where the fabric has been pulled
- Replacing a few buttons on the back

The dress definitely does need a little work from a good tailor. The quote I got was around £200 for repairs but as I’m not wearing it as my wedding dress anymore I can’t justify spending any more money on it. However, with a little bit of love, I know it can easily return to its former glory.

Happy for collections in person and if you would like to come try the dress on before purchasing that can be arranged. Would love to find a good home for it. :)
